My current research investigates the unique symbiotic association between desert plants of the genus Salsola, weevils residing on its roots and N-fixing bacteria inside the weevils, while using and developing advanced molecular methods combined with stable isotope enrichment experiments to detect and quantify nitrogen fixation activity.
